Gurupurnima is the festival of spirituality, a celebration of the principle of a Master, a Guru. Gu means darkness and Ru means light and Guru is the one who leads us from darkness to light. Gurupurnima is also a remembrance of the day when the rays of the Sun touched the Earth for the very first time. It is the day of wisdom, the day of the Light. Swamiji is sending much love and blessings to all of us throughout the world on the occasion of the upcoming Gurupurnima. On July 18th, the Gurupurnima day, the whole day event from Jadan/India will be webcast live.

Jadan Ashram is a lively and dynamic place with many ongoing projects - one of them being the Jadan School for local children. On October 11, 2007, in the 12th century monastery of Pedralbes a unique event took place with the Inter-Religious gathering of spiritual leaders from Barcelona/Spain. This meeting was organized by UNESCO of Catalonia as part of an initiative to cultivate a culture of peace between religions and to demonstrate the possibility of unity in diversity. Monsoon rains that started on July 4 almost completely filled the Rainwater Harvesting Talab in Jadan. Water is everywhere; it covered also all fields and roads. Local people say that last monsoon of such abundance was almost ten years ago. [see more...]

A historic event took place in New Delhi/India, February 5-6, 2007, when Hindu and Jewish religious leaders met for the first time for a two-day dialogue on a range of subjects.
